Julie has used a beautiful vintage style stamp from LaBlanche (coming soon to Creative Accents) together with paper by Magenta. The image was coloured with Distress Ink over a clear embossed stamp. Several of the flowers were sprayed with a new Moon Shadow Mist from Lindy's Stamp Gang. Here's a close up:

I'm back (a bit later than I intended) to share with you who our random winner was from our January Challenge... I was hoping to have my challenge project to share with you, but I had no idea that my trip to CHA had taken so much out of me! I came home feeling pretty good, on a bit of a high from seeing so many amazing samples, talented designers and fabulous products... More Snowy Inspiration!

We're back with some more inspiration for you for our "Let it Snow" challenge! The day this challenge went up last week we got a big dump of snow, followed by more snow, followed by some extreme cold (-39!) days! Looks like it's warming up again (if -7 can be "warm"), but it seems there will be more snow on it's way... so it's really not difficult to wrap your head around this challenge!

Carla made this adorable card, using BoBunny papers and our current Stamp of the Month (see details on our SOTM program here). I just can't get enough of the blues & browns... so perfect for winter!

Sarah scrapbooked one of her cute boys and his first snow experience... such great photos and I love the splash of orange she added here!

... and we've got this fab stamp set from My Mind's Eye as part of your prize this month! We'll also be adding in some other surprises... ;)

January Challenge!

Are you ready for another challenge? We've got a new one for ya and it's weather appropriate (for most of us)...LET IT SNOW!

Create any paper based project with a snowy theme or detail on it! Here where we are in Canada, the winter can last a long, long time... so we may as well enjoy it and find more ways to take advantage of how pretty it is (and here in Williams Lake, some of us would actually like to see some more snow, there hasn't been much this year)!

You've got until January 31 to play along- we can't wait to see what you create!

I'm here today to share with you the prizes you're playing for this month... though the real prize is completing Christmas projects, right? So many ideas, so little time- we're so grateful for each one of you who plays along with us in our Seriously Creative Challenges!

Each month, we use random.org to select a prize winner and this month our prize is growing according to the number of entrants we get in the challenge! Your prize starts with a fun 6x6 pad from s.e.i. This pad was designed to coordinate with one of their Christmas lines this year, but it's a totally versatile pad with bold colours and simple patterns- you'll be amazed what it coordinates with! We'll be adding in 3 yards of coordinating ribbon, as well as some fabulous bling... who knows, there may be more added to the bundle if the entries keep coming in :)

PLUS since we've already got more than 10 entries, (thanks for joining us!) members of our design team will select one entrant to win another prize- a 2012 Sketch Calendar from Scrapbook & Cards Today and PageMaps! It's a new month and we've got a new challenge for ya, this one is Easy as 1, 2, 3:

August Challenge PRIZE

This month's prize goes right along with the theme of the challenge... we've been sorting through our stash and found some old (but new) goodies that we had duplicates of! This month's random winner will receive the following items, which may be added to as the month goes on!

First, we have a 6x6 Basic Grey paper pad from their "Perhaps" collection- there may be one or two sheets missing, but we think it's all there!

Next, we have an untrimmed, unpackaged, marked "d" for demo set of cling mounted stamps by Cornish Heritage Farms. This set was a SOTM in June 2010 and is discontinued!

July Challenge

Well I hope you are having a great weekend. Here in Williams Lake, BC Canada,we are celebrating our famous Stampede. Many around the world actually travel to visit and some even participate in the rodeo. If you like horses,bulls and even the cowboys then this place to be.

For most of us who live here, we are used to the weather consisting of rain. Now I didn't say I liked it, I'm just used to it. lol So, it doesn't quite feel like summer, but there does seem to be some hope for today. I'll be taking my girls to the parade, street party and then some more rodeo and who knows from there...

So onto our challenge....

I bet you thought we'd forgotten all about prizes, didn't ya? Well... we almost did, but never fear, we will have some treats to award to go to one of the lovely ladies (or guys- we'd hate to exclude them, especially with a masculine theme going on) who plays along with us this month!

Now I finally got to play with the new distress stains from Tim Holtz .I teamed it up with Perfect Pearls from Ranger on this flower.I just dabbed a bit on the top of the flower then spritzed with Perfect Pearls.I also got to play with the new glass glitter from Melissa Frances.So pretty!!Here's a close up.

Seriously Creative Rules

Rules are made to be broken... but not these ones (heehee)! We've tried to keep them simple for ya- you'll find them on the right side of the blog. Here's some extra details in case you have any questions.

1. Create something new! Let the current challenge inspire you to create a project, don't just enter any creations you've done recently that fit the challenge.

Please don't back-link to projects you made last month (or last week, or last year). We're giving you at least 3 weeks to participate in each challenge & we hope you'll play along!

2. Focus on products that are available at your LSS (local scrapbook/stamp store). Please don't use products for your focal point that are only available to online stores or home parties.

Creative Accents is an independent, small town store and we want to encourage you to support your local stores! If you're wondering if a product is available at a local store, check their website- if they list retailer's, that's a good sign ;) We don't mind if you didn't buy it from us... maybe your project will inspire us to bring in a brand new product line to our store!

3. Keep it simple. Not your project- you can go all out on that :), but please don't get too carried away combining a bunch of challenges together at once. (We'd appreciate it if you keep it to a maximum of 5.)

We may feel it is necessary to remove your entry from the challenge if you blatantly disregard the rules... but we hope it won't come to that ;) Happy CREATING!
